Current Searches:

General Manager

Location: Downtown Chicago

Reports:

This position will report to the CEO in the headquarters in France.   (Candidate must be bilingual French/English).

An administrative assistant will also be recruited to work with the General Manager and assist him/her in the daily operation.

Mission: 

The General Manager will develop the existing business in the US by:

  • maintaining current distribution network

  • identifying and implementing new sales channels including Internet retailers and national specialized retailers

He/she will oversee the operations in the US by working with outsourced providers in the areas of accounting and logistics.

Duties and responsibilities:

Will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Actively engage in prospecting activities.  Concentrate on new business development opportunities.  Responsible for the overall satisfaction and profitability of each client account.
  • Responsible for accuracy of sales forecasts. Provide necessary information to the headquarters
  • Establish the company and brand in the US with emphasis on customer satisfaction, quality and morale.
  • Establish standards of performance and levels of competency for US operations.
  • Responsible for accuracy of all book-keeping, budgeting, financial forecasts and reports in coordination with the accountant. Deadlines include: monthly financials, quarterly account reviews, reconciliations, and year-end balance sheets.
  • Submit monthly report of all important issues relating to the company.
  • General Manager must maintain good relations with partners such as bank representatives, accounting firm, lawyer etc.

Experience:

Sales and business development experience including successful management of P&L in the US, with corporate clients (Probably 5 to 10 years of experience). Experience in Operation of a small to medium size business would be a plus.

Hands-on experience in a lean environment

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of business/economic environment

  • Knowledge of the sports industry would be a plus, as well as an experience in the retail sector but they are not necessary requirements.

  • Knowledge/experience with online retailers would be a plus.

  • Forecasting skills; strong customer-centered selling skills

  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrates sound business judgment, common sense and insight.

Education:  Bachelor's degree required

Languages skills:

Bilingual French/English is a mandatory requirement as the GM will interact on a daily basis with French management and counterparts.

Knowledge and understanding of the French culture/French business environment is also essential.

Initial training in Chicago and in France will be provided to ensure the candidate gets the necessary knowledge about the company, its products and its operation.

COMPLIANCE MANAGER (Far Western Suburbs)

Position Requirements:
1. MINIMUM OF A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE in the animal
science field such as zoology, biology, bacteriology, nutrition etc.
2. Good Math Skills.
3. Have highly effective communication skills.
4. Be detail oriented.
5. Have extensive computer skills including Excel.
6. Exhibit a high energy level
7. Be comfortable in a rapidly changing business environment with pressure
from time to time to accelerate or significantly adjust procedures.

Job Requirements:
1. Knowledgeable of applicable regulations relating to U.S.D.A., Center for Veterinary Medicine of FDA,
Association of American Feed Control Officials regulations, food ingredients (especially milk components
and vegetable oils), analytical test procedures and U.S. and worldwide Government product regulations.
2. Management responsibility for all product labeling in compliance with government regulations. Must
have knowledge of all relevant labeling regulations and become aware of changes in regulations as they
occur. This knowledge will include U.S. Customs and FDA import regulations.
3. Responsible for ensuring compliance with specifications for all incoming and outgoing products.
4. Complete and file all registrations necessary for sales in the US and Internationally.
5. Assist suppliers to gain compliance for goods supplied to Company.
6. Develop product specs and material specs for purchasing, manufacturing, customer service and the field.
7. Participate in New product development.
8. Maintain up to date data base on all products sold domestically and internationally with respect to
product and material specifications. Maintain test data: to support: efficacy for intended use of products;
analytical laboratory test results for product warranties; bacteriological test results and product formulas as
they may be updated from time to time.
9. With input from Quality Assurance Manager and Procurement Manager resolve out of specification
purchases with suppliers.
10. Determine with nutritional consultant, tests needed to support efficacy and manage tests performed by
third parties.
11. Coordinate with nutritional consultant on product development and improvement.
12. Document all formulas.
13. Maintain HACCP and GMP publications and update for process changes.
